I finished Max's ringbearer getup. I made a huge ribbon rose out of the most beautiful silk dupioni ribbon. I also made some small leaves and attached it to an awesome striped grosgrain ribbon. The whole deal is snapped onto his harness. I have to say we need to do some practicing because he doesn't really appreciate it.

This last picture is of him sulking in his bed.

My bouquet

I finally got my bouquet finished.

I also bought fabric to make the garland for the gazebo we are getting married under. We finished the favors and the programs today. My goal is to have everything done by Thursday so I can relax a little before the craziness begins.

I finished the bridesmaids bouquet just now. I am so happy they are done. This represents almost a year of work.

Bridesmaid bouquets

I haven't posted in so long. I have been very busy with wedding preparations. I started assembling the bouquets last week and I am almost finished. They are so beautiful. I am so happy they have turned out as pretty as I thought they would be. It makes all of the hard work worth it. I think they are like carrying one big piece of jewelry.

I used the beaded flower article from Martha Stewart Weddings from I don't even know when.

It seems I am not alone in my beading madness. Take a look at this bride's handiwork.
I found this while browing Supernaturale where Glitter lives now.

It's official

We mailed the wedding invites on Saturday. It is now official. The wedding is on the horizon. We also had our first tasting at the mansion on Saturday also. I have to say. It was subpar. The petite filet was at least. Now we have to figure out what we are going to serve instead. It was more like a skirt stake. Frustrating. I would rather have had a little hors d'oeuvres and some cake instead of a sit down dinner.

Also, they were setting up for a wedding that evening and the centerpieces were on the tables already. They were very cheap looking. 2 pillar candles on a glass plate with those horrible glass pebbles around them. All I could think was, "That's the best you could do? Really?" Very tacky. I guess I am just different than everyone else.

Ikea has pet stuff

I was reading the Sunday paper today and the Summer Ikea catalog was there. They now have pet stuff!! I was so exited. I love buying stuff for my dog Max, a Yorkshire Terrier, almost as much as I love to buy stuff for myself. I can't wait to get there.

Wedding Preparation

My dress is in. I had my first fitting on Tuesday. It is beautiful. I would post a picture, but it isn't online anywhere. After all the hassle I went through trying to find a bra (I went again on Monday and actually bought one that did not even fit), turns out I don't even need one with the dress. It looks so much better without. Ha!

My sister was in town for a few days to help assemble invites and we went to Mario Tricoci for manicures to test out the salon for the wedding day. We got a free makeup application for being first time customers. Let me tell ya, Tammy Faye did not have anything to brag about after we left there. I couldn't wipe that crap off my face fast enough. We liked our manicures though and booked appointments for the wedding day. Another thing checked off the list.

We then went to MAC to buy new makeup and had a fabulous time. I had recently bought some Stila powder and I am not enjoying it at all. I have problem skin and I need more than what the powder was giving me. I love Stila's packaging, but it wasn't enought to keep me coming back. I don't know why I ever stopped using MAC makeup. I love it. I bought Kara this awesome lip stuff from there. It is like buttah. I would have got some for myself, but I bought an entire new supply of makeup.

Cute shoes

I love these shoes.I would love to wear them with jeans or a skirt. I also love these shoes. i have a tendency to like shoes that are pretty, but you can't really wear a whole lot. I have a closet full of them.

Bra shopping!!!

So, I went shopping today for a bra for my wedding dress. This sounds like an easy thing to shop for. Wrong! I normally never wear a bra because I am very small up top. I really only wanted it to help smooth everything out and help the dress fit better. My dress is ivory and I wanted an ivory bra to wear underneath. Not only were there no ivory bras, but there were none in my size. I was exhausted. I left the mall and went home. I have until Tuesday to find one. If I don't have one by then, then no bra.

I was also looking for some lingerie for the honeymoon. I swear they only make stuff for large breasted chics. It was all very trashy looking and the fabrics the stuff was made of was horrible. It made my skin crawl. Yuck!

Pumpkin Moon

I went shopping today at Pumpkin Moon in Oak Park and they had so much fun stuff as always. The flower fairy kit by Klutz is so cute. The packaging for the MisoPretty line of body products was very tantalizing, almost irresistable.

Bridesmaid gifts

I am excited today. The books I ordered came. I am making my bridesmaids jewelry as their gift. The earrings, necklace, and bracelet are based on designs found in this bookand this book. I also found this site that has really beautiful bead designs. I love the rings and pendants. (It's in French.) I started making a pair of earrings immediately. Woo hoo.
